APR 01: “Give me my Money Chico” World Premiere.

By Gunther Estrada.

The Premier for the first full length LRG video “Give me my money Chico” took place at El Rey theater in L.A. California, the Choncordia crew was there to celebrate and to enjoy the talents of LRG’S eclectic team riders. A very close friend of ours Adelmo Jr. had a very nice part on it and it was very rewarding to see him Skating  with his very unique style a very solid part on the video. Rodrigo Petersen demonstrated that all of the coverage that he has been getting is well deserve, with a solid and strong style this mega pop master got the opening part of the video. Chico Brenes really gets better as the years go by, I think I heard that statement before and is very true, his part had a perfect combination of technical tricks and smooth style, definitely a classic for all of us. The video showed a nice consistent theme very LRG like, a good editing work and a team more than solid, the closing part went to Rodrigo TX with very technical tricks and combinations that only he can execute, he is a gnarly dude. Followed after the video, free drinks, music and more free drinks, here are some pics.

MAR 19: Tampa Pro 2010

By Giancarlo Zavalaga

Everything started Thursday when I picked up my friend Danny aka “Legañita” from the Tampa airport.  I haven’t seen him in a while and we had a good time catching up talking about all of our friends in Lima. Then we Skated at the park by my house before going to eat at a Peruvian restaurant where the food is really good,  when we finished eating we headed to the Skatepark of Tampa for a night session. Friday was the team manager’s contest and I couldn’t make it because I was working but I was able to go to the after party at Czar Club in Ybor City, which was insane.  Saturday, I arrived at 4 o’clock and all the pros were already there; Colin McKay, Peter Smolik, Pat Duffy, Ronnie Creager, Eric Koston, P Rod, Scheckler, T Pud and many others. This year wasn’t as good as the previous year but was still worth watching.  After the contest ended, we went to the Reservoir Bar which is where everybody hangs out for now until the Skatepark of Tampa (SPOT) opens its own bar called “The Bricks”. The finals were on Sunday and this time I made it out early to watch the whole contest. I wanted to see Luan Oliveira doing his crazy tricks again, he turned pro this year and he definitely didn’t disappoint. He did all his tricks perfect especially the switch heel bigspin 540.  P Rod was doing a perfect nollie 180 backside front foot flips on the pyramid like it was nothing; he had really good runs and was this year’s winner. Second Place went to Nyjah Houston and Third Place went to Keegan Sauder,  the Best Trick Award was given to Matt Miller for a crazy ass backside noseblunt.

That was all for this year, hopefully next year will be even better. Next up is Maloof in NY and I can’t wait to be there.

Here are some pics from the contest. CFL!!!!!

MAR 18: New Pants.

When I first started making clothes many years ago the first thing I sewed and printed was a Tshirt, and then after 3 summers and practice my good friend Saito  asked me to make him PANTS. He wanted a copy of a pair of pants Rick Howard wore in his 1992 “Questionable Video” part but I didn’t have any idea on how to make pockets or put a zipper on it but Saito  was so insistent that I ended up making them. They were very simple and I tried to match not only the fitting but also the color for Saito because that was the most important part for him; Thanks to Saito I learned how to make pants, gracias Chino!! Now, 18 years later people still ask me to make them pants :) So here they are, the new “92’s” have a Straight Leg fit and are made with 95% Cotton and 5% Spandex, 5 pockets, label contrasting details and is available in 5 sizes,  28,30,32,34 and 36; 2 more colors will be available in the new catalog coming this week so make sure to ask your local shop to order some 92’s for you ;), just click on the image to go to the store.
